Cessation of criminal proceedings for blackmail Alexandra Stan’s manager, investigated for fraud and common assault

It's official! Prosecutors from the National Anticorruption Directorate (NAD) - Constanta Territorial Service ordered cessation of criminal proceedings of Vasile Marcel Prodan, the manager of the singer Alexandra Stan from Constanta. The man was suspected of extortion.






















Prosecutors' decision was based on the absence of one of the elements of the offense. Note that the prosecutors from the National Anticorruption Directorate - Constanta Territorial Service decided to sever the case against Prodan for further investigation in terms of offenses of fraud and common assault and declined jurisdiction of the new cause to the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Court of Constanta. Recall that on June 18th, the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice announced that "on the role of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Court of Constanta has been constituted a criminal case due to the criminal complaint filed by artist the Alexandra Stan against her artistic manager for the offense of blackmail". "From the contents of the complaint it is noted that, due to existing misunderstandings, the victim was threatened and beaten by the offender on 14th and 15th of June, in order to determine her to give up financial claims for her artistic performance, which have been cashed by the company where he was the manager", according to the General Prosecutor’s Office. On June 25th, NAD announced starting criminal proceedings regarding Vasile Marcel Prodan, director of SC Maan Music Studio SRL, and regarding the legal person Maan Music Studio SRL, who were charged of blackmail.
